The Qatari-Saudi Business Council held a meeting in Riyadh on Sunday to discuss ways to facilitate trade between the two countries, enhance mutual investments, and streamline business operations in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and Qatar Vision 2030. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, and by Hamad bin Ali Al Shuwaier on the Saudi side, with the attendance of business leaders and officials from both countries.
The Chairman of the Saudi Chambers Federation, Hassan bin Maajid Al Huwayzi, emphasized the significant opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, noting that Qatar’s experience in organizing the World Cup could be leveraged for major projects in Saudi Arabia, particularly those linked to Vision 2030.
Al Shuwaier highlighted the crucial phase in economic relations between the two nations and the need to enhance the private sector’s role in developing trade relations. The Qatari-Saudi Business Council has achieved substantial progress, with trade exchange and joint investments growing by over 120%.
Plans were discussed to remove trade barriers and strengthen economic cooperation through joint events, along with encouraging investments in strategic sectors. The meeting concluded with an announcement for the Qatari-Saudi Business Forum, set to take place on Monday with the participation of 100 Qatari businessmen, as well as Saudi officials and business leaders, to explore investment and trade opportunities.
